Regner Grasten (producer) and Anne-Grethe Bjarup Riis (director) teamed up to tell the story of the Danish Fiil family and their fight against the Germans occupying Denmark in World War 2. For the music, we wanted to focus on both the tragedy and hope present in the family during their resistance to the German's firm grip on the community. A resistance that eventually cost several family members their lives. The second film follows the remaining family members' struggle after some have been captured by the nazis.

The first film features about 40 minutes of music inspired by Nordic composers like Jean Sibelius, and also by the great John Williams. It features solo cello, oboe and english horn performances recorded at Hørsholm church. The second track below is the opening track written for the sequel that came out in 2022.

After having worked on his short film, Dreynschlag, super talented Marco Kalantari (director) approached me and asked if I was interested in working on his feature film debut, Ainoa (2005). Of course I was! This was also MY feature film debut and an amazing film to work on, since it let me do a lot of thematic and fantasy based music. Me and my friends were in Prague recording our custom sample library when I met Marco, and most of the strings in the Ainoa soundtrack are from those recordings. I was also lucky enough to get the Danish choir Tritonus to perform on some tracks, including the "Mountains" track featured here.

The second track here is the full length version of the main theme featuring live performance by Lærke, an opera singer I was fortunate enough to be able to record for this.
